摘要: Background. Several studies suggest that there is a biologically plausible connection between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and periodontal diseases (PD). Both disorders are characterized as multifactorial potentially sharing common risk factors. Based on the inflammatory nature of RA PD, impact genetic variations genes immune system both was studied in this study. Materials Methods. We conducted case-control study ( ) comparing 101 patients suffering from disease different severities (no/mild PD vs. severe PD) with 100 systemically healthy controls without PD. The genotype, allele, haplotype distributions 22 SNPs 13 pro- anti-inflammatory cytokines were assessed applying sequence-specific PCR. Results. Evaluating cytokine RA, we identified G allele rs1801275 IL4Rα rs361525 TNFα disease-associated factors bivariate analyses. In multivariate analyses, these significant associations could not be proven. A rs2430561 IFNγ indicative for periodontitis among ). Investigating comorbidity using binary logistic regression confirmed an independent factor Conclusions. These results emphasize association proinflammatory (TNFα IFNγ) receptor (IL4Rα) diseases. proven to marker comorbidities. broadens knowledge about disease-specific differences composition provides improved understanding possible
