摘要: Abstract Background Incidental resection of parathyroid tissue is not uncommon during thyroidectomy and may occur even in the hands experienced thyroid surgeons. We aimed to investigate clinical relevance incidental parathyroidectomy determine which risk factors are important for it. Patients Four hundred forty consecutive patients with non-toxic multinodular goitre treated by total near-total were included prospectively present study. group 1 ( n =48) had inadvertent gland, whereas 2 =392) did have glands removed. Results There was a positive correlation between r s =0.519, p =0.0001), pathology =0.338, =0.0001) intrathyroid locations. an impact on postoperative hypocalcemia. The increased 13-fold who underwent (OR: 13.7; 95% CI:4.08–46.05), 4-fold substernal 4.1; CI: 1.1–14.3). Conclusions Total thyroidectomy, pathology, locations parathyroidectomy. All established also surgery be potential complication.
