摘要: Bruchid beetles cause high losses of stored legumes in the tropics. Chemical control is inappropriate for small scale farmer and use alternative measures should be encouraged. Different biological methods such as cultural, physical, varietal, biological, biorational genetic are reviewed. Cultural techniques timely frequent harvesting, planted away from granaries, crop hygiene storage pods, within technical financial means farmer. The inert substances, vegetable oils repellent plants may cheap effective if properly managed. controlled atmosphere, vacuum, heating, cooling sterilizing, requires relatively advanced techniques. Growth regulators pheromones currently not available control. Varieties resistant to bruchids have been identified, but incorporation resistance into suitable varieties has proven difficult. Biological receive more attention particular research on introduction conservation natural enemies. To effectively implement at farmer’s level socio-economic cultural aspects taken account. Proven appropriate combined an overall integrated pest management strategy.
