摘要: Marine sponges, a well-documented prolific source of natural products, harbor highly diverse microbial communities. Their extracts were previously shown to contain quorum sensing (QS) signal molecules the N-acyl homoserine lactone (AHL) type, known orchestrate bacterial gene regulation. Some bacteria and eukaryotic organisms are produce that can interfere with QS signaling, thus affecting genetic regulation function. In present study, we established production both as well inhibitory (QSI) in sponge species Sarcotragus spinosulus. A total eighteen saturated acyl chain AHLs identified along six unsaturated AHLs. Bioassay-guided purification led isolation two brominated metabolites QSI activity. The structures these compounds elucidated by comparative spectral analysis 1HNMR HR-MS data 3-bromo-4-methoxyphenethylamine (1) 5,6-dibromo-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (2). activity 1 2 was evaluated using reporter assays for long- short-chain AHL signals (Escherichia coli pSB1075 E. pSB401, respectively). further confirmed measuring dose-dependent inhibition proteolytic pyocyanin Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1. obtained results show coexistence S. spinosulus, complex network may mediate orchestrated function microbiome within holobiont.
