摘要: Ipomoea carnea promotes in livestock a toxicosis histologically characterized by vacuolated cells different organs. The toxic principles of I. are the alkaloids swainsonine and calystegines B1, B2, B3 Cl. However, it has not been determined whether effects observed rats treated with this plant only due to or if have some additive effect. Thus, aim present study was evaluate L aqueous fraction (AF) its when administered individually at same concentration as fraction, for 14 days. No anorexic effect and/or alteration body weight any group. histopathologic showed that while did produce effects, I AF promoted vacuolation organs, being more severe animals from group extensible other organs evaluated. alterations were detected central nervous system assayed. results obtained here suggest may act coadjuvants toxicosis; however, little can be proposed about neurotoxic since prove good model reproduction neuronal storage disease.
