摘要: The Chakmas are the largest tribe inhabiting forested hilly regions in Chittagong Hill Tracts, which lies southeastern part of Bangladesh. Although they scattered all four districts mostly concentrated Rangamati and Khagrachari. tribal population is currently estimated at around 300,000. distinguished by having their own language with alphabets distinctive culture, includes rituals medicinal practitioners. More than 30 clans (which further sub-divided into over 50 sects) exist within tribe. It was objective present study to conduct an ethnomedicinal survey among practitioners Baburo, Haduga, Larma Chakma district Bangladesh as traditional formulations for treatment various ailments. conducted help a semi-structured questionnaire guided field-walk method. One practitioner from each clan interviewed. observed that three practitioners, themselves, used total 73 plants distributed 42 families Rubiaceae family contributed 7 followed Apocynaceae, Euphorbiaceae Lamiaceae each. Leaves constituted major plant used, forming 60.2% uses. were barks, roots, fruits stems, respectively, formed 12.9, 8.6, 7.5 5.4% Respiratory disorders (coughs, mucus), skin diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, hemorrhoids, fever, eye urinary tract helminthiasis, stomach kidney stones, paralysis, pain, rheumatism jaundice ailments treated However, also recognized claimed treat successfully diseases like diabetes, cancer, hypertension. Diabetes 9 different hypertension 5 plants. two types namely cancer throat cancer.
