摘要: The amino acid sequence of the rat 40 S ribosomal subunit protein S2 was deduced from nucleotides in two recombinant cDNAs and confirmed a cyanogen bromide peptide obtained protein. Ribosomal has 293 acids molecular weight 31,211. Hybridization cDNA to digests nuclear DNA suggests that there are 23-28 copies gene. mRNA for is about 1,000 length. highly conserved repetitive mammalian gene family designated LLRep3, but not identified before, encodes S2. Rat related Saccharomyces cerevisiae S4, Methanococcus vannielii S5, Escherichia coli other members prokaryotic S5 family. S. S4 E. involved binding aminoacyl-tRNA ribosomes conditioning fidelity translation; it plausible assume serves similar functions. NH2-terminal region rich arginine-glycine repeats including eight occur tandem consecutive motif RGGF; these sequences have been associated with nucleolar localization RNA.
