摘要: This paper discusses the comparative effect of Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structures on two element Microstrip antenna array. The dielectric substrate used is FR-4 glass epoxy with constant 4.2 and loss tangent 0.0245. conventional array resonating at a frequency 5.53 GHz mutual coupling -17.83 dB. first proposed square slot EBG structure in ground plane fractal patch surface produces -50.21 dB gain 8.78 GHz. second star diamond -51.63 7.20 Both arrays are producing appreciable decrease back lobe radiation. designed using Mentor Graphics IE3D software measured obtained vector network analyzer.
