摘要: Abstract Photon-counting distribution of fluorescence from a single molecule is modeled as doubly stochastic Poisson distribution. A two-state model considered where dye jumps between an `on' (=high) intensity level and `off' (=low, background) level. Those may be caused by sojourns into non-emissive triplet state. Illustrative examples photon-counting are calculated for three parameter regimes. In the slow blinking regime, lifetimes much longer then integration time (=bin time). intermediate regime at least one comparable with time. fast shorter The can helpful in establishing whether experimental histogram consistent blinking.
