摘要: ● Background: Sedentary behavior is associated with an increased risk for death in the general population. However, association between inactivity and mortality has not been studied a large cohort of dialysis patients despite high prevalence sedentary this group. Methods: We used Dialysis Morbidity Mortality Study Wave 2, prospective study national sample 4,024 incident peritoneal hemodialysis from 1996 to 1997, determine whether during 1-year period group after adjusting confounding variables. Results: The population consisted 2,837 accurate survival data who were able ambulate transfer. Eleven percent died compared 5% nonsedentary patients. In analysis, (hazard ratio, 1.62; 95% confidence interval, 1.16 2.27) was at 1 year all variables that we postulated might be differences Conclusion: among similar magnitude other well-established factors, such as one-point reduction serum albumin concentration. More attention should given exercise patients, controlled clinical trials are needed further define mortality. Am J Kidney Dis 41:447-454. © 2003 by National Foundation, Inc.
