摘要: Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic potential oral curcumin (1 g/kg body weight rat) in prevention and treatment streptozotocin-induced diabetic retinopathy Wistar albino rats. Methods: carried out for a period 16 weeks rats evaluated hyperglycemic, antioxidant (superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione), inflammatory parameters (tumor necrosis factor-α, vascular endothelial growth factor). Rat fundus observed weekly see any visible changes retina, such as tortuosity dilation retinal vessels. Histological were by transmission electron microscopy.
