摘要: Abstract. This paper presents an analysis of fatalities attributable to weather conditions in the Czech Republic during 2000–2019 period. The database deployed contains information extracted from Pravo, a leading daily newspaper, and Novinky.cz, its internet equivalent, supplemented by number other documentary sources. is performed for floods, windstorms, convective storms, rain, snow, glaze ice, frost, heat, fog. For each them, associated are investigated terms annual frequencies, trends, variation, spatial distribution, cause, type, place, time as well sex, age, behaviour casualties. There were 1164 weather-related 2000–2019 study period, exhibiting statistically significant falling trend. Those frost (31 %) predominated, followed snow. Fatalities at their maximum January December minimum April September. arising out vehicle accidents (48 %) predominated structure, freezing or hypothermia (30 %). Most deaths occurred night. Adults (65 %) males (72 %) accounted majority fatalities, while indirect more frequent than direct ones (55 % 45 %). Hazardous 76 %. According Statistical Office, caused exposure excessive natural cold markedly predominant among five selected groups weather-related numbers exhibit rise during 2000–2019. Police yearbooks indicate significantly decreasing trends frequency inclement patterns with fatal decrease percentage fatalities. discussion results includes problems data uncertainty, comparison different sources, broader context.
