摘要: The acute form of histoplasmosis usually occurs after the exposition more than one individual to a common environmental source harboring Histoplasma capsulatum. Here, we present two cases pulmonary seen within weeks at reference center for infectious diseases Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. patients did not epidemiologic history histoplasmosis, however both presented COVID-19 before onset symptoms. Due difficulties in diagnosis novel laboratory methods such as Western Blot and PCR were included investigation these cases. Both negative cultures H. capsulatum urinary galactomannan. However, they H M bands blot well positive DNA detection sputum. These results available approximately 36 h sample collection, fastening beginning treatment patient. progressed with itraconazole treatment. suggest that may facilitate development and, therefore, clinicians must be aware this differential from endemic areas fever coughing recovery COVID-19.
