摘要: Expression and function of sodium iodide symporter (NIS) is requisite for efficient transport in thyrocytes, its presence cancer cells allows the use radioiodine as a diagnostic therapeutic tool thyroid neoplasia. Discovery NIS expression extrathyroidal tissues, including transformed cells, has opened novel field research regarding NIS-expressing Indeed, may be used biomarker diagnostic, prognostic, purposes. Moreover, stimulation endogenous permit treatment lesions by concentrating this radioisotope. This review describes recent findings malignancies, focusing on breast urological cancer, emphasizing most relevant developments that have clinical impact. Given progress study regulation molecular basis new approaches cancers, particular attention given to studies relationship between clinical-pathological aspects tumors experimental models.
