摘要: Gemmomodification is a form of herbal medicine in which young freshly growing buds plants are used. At germinating stage, metabolic activities maximum and various nutrients, hormones enzymes bioactive phytoconstituents released available at this stage. Plants may be promising source natural antioxidants Oxidative stress leads to many chronic degenerative diseases. Antioxidants very essential for human body; they can protect the body from damage caused by free radical induced oxidative stress. This research project had been designed investigate antioxidant potential gemmo modified native (dry leaves) extract Silybum marianum. Total phenolic contents was calculated using Folin-Ciocalteu reagent evaluated four assays (DPPH, ABTS, Super oxide nitric oxide), reducing power assay lipid peroxidation spectrophotometrically. Gemmo showed significantly higher (p<0.050) TPC (830 mg GAE/g plant extract) as compared (800 GAE/g.) Results study revealed that demonstrated better than natively used parts
