摘要: We examined a catalytic effect of niobium oxide (Nb 2 O 5 ) on the hydrogen storage properties MgH prepared by mechanical ball milling method. The composite doped with 1 mol% Nb for 20 h desorbed up to ∼6 mass% in temperature range from 200 250 °C at heating rate °C/min under purified helium flow. After dehydrogenation °C, product showed remarkable absorption kinetics. A large amount gaseous ∼4.5 was absorbed even room MPa pressure within 15 s and finally its capacity reached mass%. Furthermore, valence state X-ray near edge structure (XANES) measurement. results indicated that additive reduced during milling. This suggests compound, which atom is less than 5+, acts as catalyst absorbing/desorbing
