摘要: The study monitored the concentrations of pesticide residues in vegetables arriving at Agbogbloshie, a central market Accra Metropolis from different parts Ghana and beyond. A total 810 samples 5 Central, Volta, Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern Regions, neighboring country (Togo) were collected January 2009 through to December 2011. In all, 18 % had no detectable residues, 62 % below maximum residue limits (MRLs), 20 % also exceeded EU (MRLs) adopted values. Overall, lettuce contained highest number above their MRLs besides cucumber cabbage. mainly organophosphates synthetic pyrethroids. results demonstrate need for continuous monitoring various major markets Ghana.
