摘要: Narcolepsy in children is a serious disorder marked by chronic course and lifelong handicap school performance choice of employment, free time activity limitation, behavior personality changes, all which constitute major influence on the quality life. Increased daytime sleepiness may be only sign at disease onset, with attacks sleep becoming longer lasting up to hours. Also present confusional arousals features drunkenness. Paradoxically, preschool young show inattentiveness, emotional lability, hyperactive behavior. Cataplexy develop after onset affect mainly muscles face. Hypnagogic hallucinations paralysis are seldom present. Multiple Sleep Latency Test criteria not available for younger than 6 years. The haplotype (HLA-DQB1:0602) can associated disorder; however, best predictor narcolepsy–cataplexy hypocretin deficiency. treatment generally used adults regarded as off-label childhood, why management pediatric narcolepsy difficult .
