摘要: Biomarkers are pivotal for cancer detection, diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic monitoring. However, currently available biomarkers have the disadvantage of lacking specificity and/or sensitivity. Developing effective becomes a pressing permanent need. The secretome, totality proteins released by cells or tissues, provides useful tools discovery novel biomarkers. focus this article is to review recent advances in secretome analysis. We aim elaborate approaches employed studies, as well its applications identification clarification carcinogenesis mechanisms. Challenges encountered newly emerging field, including sample preparation, vivo analysis biomarker validation, also discussed. Further improvements on strategies technologies will continue drive forward research enable development wealth clinically valuable
