摘要: Fats, proteins, and complex carbohydrates represent the major sources of calories in typical diet found Western world. During digestion within proximal small intestine proteins are broken down into simpler peptides saccharides that very polar so soluble aqueous environment intestinal contents. Because high degree interaction between these products water phase, carrier-mediated energy-linked transport processes required to bring about net transfer molecules from lumen cytosolic compartment columnar absorptive cell jejunum ileum.(1,2) In contrast, dietary lipids releases still nonpolar and, therefore, have low solubilities. Such are, however, readily absorbed across microvillus membrane by passive mechanisms. This chapter reviews unique biochemical physiological mechanisms interact absorption external environment, i. e., contents lumen, body, i.e., epithelial intestine.(3)
