摘要: The sequence of events in heart ischemia-reperfusion has been clearly documented experimental animal models but not cardiac surgery patients. evidence human studies had gathered a systematic and comprehensive fashion, so as to provide an encompassing picture the phenomenon. This limits our ability devise appropriate strategies for optimal perioperative myocardial protection. We present here review or experience historical perspective. From previous we conclude that, although several issues still remain unsolved, there is no doubt that oxygen-free radicals are important contributors injury during reperfusion period coronary artery bypass surgery. Yet, spite this wealth information, both clinical experimental, subsequent trials conducted over last years with variety antioxidant have largely disappointing. Therefore, whole paradigm oxidative stress needs be re-evaluated. In regard, differences between past current knowledge discussed, future directions traced. concluded patients subjected elective undergo upon after cardioplegic arrest; magnitude phenomenon, however, at small may justify widespread therapy.
