摘要: • Clinical and pathologic differences exist between the several neoplasms encompassed by termmalignant mixed tumorsof salivary glands. The majority of are carcinomas ex pleomorphic adenoma. True malignant tumors (carcinosarcomas) rare, even more rare benign metastasizing tumors. This study 40malignant tumorsindicates that two previously unreported variables, measured invasion in millimeters histologic subclassifications neoplasm, valuable guides to prognosis biologic behavior. All patients whose neoplasm extended for than 8 mm beyond residual capsule or tumor died their disease. extent also correlated with perineurial invasion, involvement bone, metastases lymph nodes. Histologic subclassification points out there is no prototypical carcinoma adenoma high- low-grade can be found. Only one (terminal duct) his disease during follow-up periods extending over 20 years.
