摘要: It has recently been demonstrated that acute hypercholesterolemia per se, independently of its atherogenic effect, increases the extent myocardial injury in rabbits undergoing coronary artery occlusion-reperfusion. Estimation blood flow after reperfusion indicated this deleterious effect was due to a vascular obstruction limited efficacy reperfusion. The goal study evaluate role played by platelets contributing occurrence effect. Accordingly, New Zealand White were fed standard laboratory chow diet (plasma cholesterol 67 +/- 12 mg/dl) or 2% cholesterol-enriched for 3 days 329 70 mg/dl). In first series experiments autologous labeled with 111In-oxine. After labeling, reinjected same animal and 30 min later occlusion (CAO) induced. CAO maintained followed 5.5 hr animals then killed, their hearts excised, each left ventricle divided into ischemic normally perfused samples. Myocardial samples counted gamma counter. Platelet accumulation ratio, i.e., 111In activity myocardium gram tissue normal tissue, calculated. ratio 2.4 0.2 (mean SEM) controls (n = 7) 10.3 1.0 cholesterol-fed group 6, p less than .001), indicating marked occurs hypercholesterolemic rabbits. To importance phenomenon, another performed.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
