摘要: PURPOSE. To describe changes in the localization patterns and levels of rod cone photoreceptor proteins after experimental retinal detachment (RD). METHODS. Cat retinas were detached for 1, 3, 7, or 28 days, at which time cyccups placed fixative immunocytochemical analysis homogenized biochemistry. Immunocytochemistry was performed using 19 probes molecules known to be associated with photoreceptors. Protein concentrations determined enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay Western blot analysis. Cone cell death analyzed by double labeling TdT-dUTP terminal nick-end cone-specific antibodies. RESULTS. Although some cones died, many survived long-term RD. their profiles may have changed, photoreceptors continued express most studied as long they alive. In contrast, failed label almost all specific them 3 days detachment. The exception phosducin, localized both rods and, 28-day detachments, increased 180% amount normal retina. CONCLUSIONS. Rods respond differently This difference account a faster return vision lingering color acuity that are often reported successful reattachment surgeries.
