摘要: Abstract We have investigated whether histone H1 is present on active Balbiani ring genes in the salivary glands of Chironomus tentans using immunoelectron microscopy. The were studied In two activity states: maximally activated with a fully extended template and repressed 30 nm fiber conformation. Histone was recorded gene both conformations; immunosignal considerably stronger transcriptionally state, probably reflecting increased accessibility to antibody unfolded versus compacted chromatin. conclude that during transcription DNA nucleosomes are disrupted at RNA polymerases, but H1, most likely also core histones, remains bound template.
