摘要: Background: Implanted port is an implanted device giving access to veins for patients with difficult or who need regular long-term administration of drugs often be delivered into a large central vein. Aim: The aim this study was conducted assess nurses' performance (knowledge, practice& attitude) caring undergoing chemotherapy. Research design: An exploratory descriptive design utilized achieve the study. Setting: at oncology department in El-Demerdash Hospital affiliated Ain Shams University. Study subject: A convenience sample (50) nurses working previously mentioned unit within 6 months. Tools: three tools were used including: - I- Self-administered questionnaire: it nurses’ knowledge, factors affecting on their and demographic characteristics nurses. II-Nurses’ observational checklist: practice port. III-Likert scale: attitude Results & Conclusion: more than quarter had inadequate practice, two third them knowledge while half positive regarding Recommendations: Further research are recommended periodically new approaches area management evaluate its reflection patient’s outcomes.
