摘要: A proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL) of the tumour necrosis factor (TNF) family is produced in small amounts many tissues and more abundantly tumours. APRIL has been reported to promote cell growth vivo vitro. It was recently shown that production some glioblastoma lines does not lead an increase growth. In this study, we investigated its ability proliferation eight human lines. We found tested but normal embryonic astrocyte counterparts glioblastomas. Flow cytometry demonstrated presence a specific APRIL-binding receptor on surface all tested. This also present adult astrocytes neural progenitor cells. Moreover, addition recombinant resulted rate four Addition soluble TNF-receptor-homologue B-cell maturation (BCMA) chimeric protein, which binds APRIL, confirmed involvement malignant
