摘要: Objective To assess the performance of CAGE questionnaire in identifying elderly medicine outpatients with drinking problems. Design Cross-sectional design, alcohol module Diagnostic Interview Schedule as criterion standard. Setting The outpatient medical practice an urban university teaching hospital. Patients Consecutive patients 18 years or older who signed a consent form approved by university's institutional review board. For this study, 323 ≥60 old. Main Outcome Measures Sensitivity, specificity, receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve and positive predictive value for scores 0–4 60 older. Results Thirty-three percent sample group met study criteria history problems, including 63% male 22% female patients. The sensitivity specificity cut-off score one all was 86% 78%, respectively, 70% 91% two. calculation area under ROC .86, were 33%, 66%, 79%, 82%, 94%, respectively. any higher males than females, reflecting prevalence problems population. Conclusions The can effectively discriminate from those without such history. chosen should consider population being tested.
