摘要: Abstract When mixed mineral suspensions are flocculated with gelatine, complex and varied pH-dependence effects observed. With pure of insoluble materials widely different character such as quartz, kaolin, silicon carbide, a uniform pattern results is obtained. A detailed study has been made the flocculation quartz gelatine relation to amount adsorbed under various conditions, electrophoretic mobility particles. maximum adsorption, thickness layer on surface particles greater than that unimolecular layer. Under these conditions there little or no flocculation. The best flocculations obtained when one-third this adsorbed. optimum for more 99.9% added efficiency flocculation, but not degree very pH-dependent. negatively charged suspension, pH where molecules carry small positive charge, which leads only decrease in so after remain separated by distance probably order 500 A. highly charged, reduced near zero poorer In presence excess have same isoelectric point entirely governed Agitation an irreversible, adverse effect It postulated polymeric flocculating agents initially ordered monolayers disordered structure molecular chains project from first formed. These enable polymer bridges span be formed collision. links disrupted agitation, slow rearrangement involving adsorption free dependence due primarily influence charge configuration rather its net
