摘要: Feral asses (Equus asinus) were studied in a desert range southeastern California, USA. They formed small, highly unstable groups of varied sex and age composition. Older ♂♂ tended to be solitary some seasonally territorial. Home ranges marked individuals overlapped averaged 32 km2. The territory ♂ occupied 0.5 social spatial organizations the study population are compared with other feral ass populations equid species. Loose organization is viewed as well-adapted low carrying capacity deserts, territorial system similarly adaptive when precipitation periodic.
