摘要: The authors describe an optical package where light from input fiber is collimated by a GRIN (gradient index) lens and incident at slight angle on reflective modulator in the Fourier plane. modulated output reflected focused same into separate placed symmetrically across axis. Conventional ceramic ferrules, with single hole center, are fabricated submicron tolerances. But manufacturing processes do not allow ferrule two holes positioned required accuracy. Instead we use radially symmetric 250 /spl mu/m hole-exactly twice 125 diameter-and put both fibers hole. "transmissive" mode has excess loss of 1 dB.
