摘要: Abstract The activation of nitrofurans to mutagenic intermediates by testicular tissue was investigated. AF-2 and nitrofurazone were tested in a microsomal suspension assay with strain E. coli K-12 343/113 as indicator subcellular fractions from rabbit testes. Different mutation patterns observed the presence or absence homogenate, indicating different intermediates. frequency arg + reversion increased proportionally homogenate concentration suggesting that activated components induced base-pair substitutions. Other experiments showed component low molecular weight, present soluble fraction homogenates testes rabbits, rats monkeys, responsible for frequency. It is concluded this “co-mutagen-like” factor either alters metabolism and/or promotes formation substitution-type mutations. This direct interaction between non-enzymic mammalian induction/expression process suggests role co-mutagen-like factors sensitivity nitrofurans.
