摘要: Abstract A study is presented of the seasonal and interannual variability Arctic sea‐ice extent over 32‐year period 1953–84. The data set used consists monthly concentration values given on a 1°‐latitude grid represents 7‐year extension 25‐year analysed by Walsh Johnson (1979). By focussing attention in seven distinct subregions that circumscribe polar region, number interesting spatial patterns emerge regional cycles anomalies ice coverage. For example, time‐scale smoothed anomaly fluctuations varies from 4–6 year cycle western (e.g. Beaufort Sea) to decadal one eastern Barents Sea).
