摘要: Recent studies have led to the discovery of a mediator that acts as an endogenous counter-regulator glucocorticoid action within immune system. Isolated product anterior pituitary cells, this protein was found sequence macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF), one first cytokine activities be described. Macrophages and T cells release MIF in response both various inflammatory stimuli upon incubation with low concentrations glucocorticoids. The glucocorticoid-induced secretion is tightly regulated decreases at high, anti-inflammatory steroid concentrations. Once secreted, "overrides" immunosuppressive effects steroids on T-cell production. physiological role thus appears counter-balance inhibition response. Anti-MIF antibodies fully protect animals from experimentally induced gram-negative or gram-positive septic shock, effect may result increased glucocorticoids after neutralization MIF. therapeutic strategies are presently under development prove means modulate production shock well other disease states.
