摘要: The study examined Hypothalamus Pituitary Adrenal (HPA) axis and inflammatory signaling in 206 youth with histories of prenatal drug exposure self reported maltreatment. Youth severe neglect showed elevated levels cortisol, the end product HPA axis, comparison to lower or minimal neglect. Histories also were associated increased Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF), a cytokine known be intricately involved regulation. Salivary MIF positively age exposure. These cortisol alterations may signal pathophysiological disruptions neuro endocrine immune systems, which lead trajectories disease risk among vulnerable youth. Our findings provide preliminary support for validity reliability noninvasive salivary assessment MIF.
