摘要: Background Nasal obstruction is a typical symptom in patients with nasal septal perforations. Rhinomanometry and acoustic rhinometry are not reliable these cases because the perforations generate incorrect results. Infrared thermography camera (ITC) systems allow contact-free intranasal recordings of surface temperature semiquantification airflow. The aim this study was to perform measurements vestibular by application ITC investigate disturbed heat exchange Methods profiles within vestibules healthy volunteers (n=10) (n=3) were recorded an during several breathing cycles. Thermal images taken (60/s) displaying degrees centigrade corresponding color scale. Results showed inspiration expiration comparison subjects. A reduced irregular inspiratory cooling entire visualizes airflow volume. Conclusion able prove feasibility system Contrary rhinomanometry rhinometry, cameras can be applied examine detected might possible explanation for patients' feelings obstruction.
