摘要: Background: Adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) is a malignant salivary gland neoplasm with poor long-term prognosis. Differentiating between AdCC and other neoplasms can be diagnostic challenge, particularly in examining tissues obtained from small incisional biopsies. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate c-kit expression four common benign neoplasms. Materials Methods: Immunohistochemical techniques were used analyze the level normal (n = 10) different types tumors: Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) 17), 9), polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma (PLGA) 4) mucoepidermoid (MEC) 6). Samples immunostained using monoclonal antibody against c-kit. Results: immunoreactivity for found all cases AdCC, PLGA MEC majority PAs. Positive reactivity observed more than 50% tumor cells less PLGA. PA did not show strong immunostaining predominantly localized cell membrane. Furthermore, difference statistically significant. Conclusions: CD117 itself cannot as marker differential diagnosis However, percentage immunoreactive staining intensities appeared important factors distinguishing PA.
