摘要: Abstract V 2 O 5 –TiO layers with a sheet-like morphology were synthesized by micro arc oxidation process for the first time. Surface and topography of investigated scanning electron microscope (SEM) atomic force (AFM). Phase structure chemical composition also studied X-ray diffraction (XRD) photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. It was revealed that composite had average thickness which about 100 nm depending on applied voltage. The consisted anatase, rutile, vanadium pentoxide phases fractions varied optical properties examined employing UV–vis spectrophotometer. found absorption edge grown shifted toward visible wavelengths when compared to MAO-synthesized pure titania layers. band gap energy calculated as 2.58 eV. Furthermore, photo-catalytic performance measuring decomposition rate methylene blue under ultraviolet irradiations. results demonstrated 90% 68% solution decomposed after 120 min irradiations over layers, respectively.
