摘要: Although genetic variation for co mpensation exists, studies of the mechanisms underlying such have only recently been reported. Here we synthesize, and add new information, on what is known to date about underpinnings plant compensation following insect mammalian herb ivory with a focus predominantly phenomenon overcompensation. These centered role endoreduplication in genes involved compensatory response. Specifically, p ropose that plants capability overco mpensating (increasing both biomass fitness when compared undamaged controls) reprogram their transcriptional act ivity at least three important ways: 1) through suite defensive mechanisms, 2) an increase expression energy metabolism 3) DNA content (via endoreduplication), feeding back pathways defense increased gene expression.
