摘要: Abstract Background: Congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) occur in approximately 1% of the white population. These lesions are often surgically excised prophylactically because increased melanoma risk. Objective: In this study 87 CMN all sizes from infants 12 months age or younger (mean age, 6.6 months) were examined histologically. Methods: Each lesion was evaluated for depth nevus cell involvement, overall epidermal and dermal pattern, cytologic atypia. Results: Most involved lower half reticular dermis (89%), 51% infiltrated subcutaneous tissue. Depth infiltration positively correlated with size lesion. The predominant pattern diffuse interstitial (63%). Patchy patterns observed 37% associated smaller ( p Conclusion: results indicate that cells directly related to infants.
