Impact of family structure, parental migration, and parental divorce on an adolescent's educational enrollment: evidence from a longitudinal study in Kanchanaburi province, Thailand.

摘要: Family structure, migration, and divorce are the crucial determinants that shape a family member’s well-being. Previous studies have shown adolescent residing in extended families, with parental without tend to better outcomes. Using data from 2001 2004 round of Kanchanaburi Demographic Surveillance System (KDSS), this study aims explore relationship between adolescent’s educational enrolment. The sample adolescents aged 13-18 were used for analysis. Binary logistic regression analysis proposes families grandparents, household mother outside more likely enroll school 2004. This suggests training grandparents about grandchildren’s caring, women’s job availability, Life Skill Program divorced homes should be implemented.
