摘要: Abstract Variable-temperature incoherent quasielastic neutron scattering (QENS) measurements on instruments of differing elastic energy resolutions and ranges vector magnitude allow characterisation two (slowly exchanging) dynamic hydrogen populations in the interlayer region H 1.68 MoO 3 motional processes associated with them. One population (present hydroxyl groups) undergoes rapid self-diffusion ( D t (295 K)=4×10 −6 cm 2 s −1 ). The second (in coordinated O molecules) has a higher activation barrier to H-atom takes part fourfold reorientational motion E A =26 kJ mol , τ res 0 ≈10 −14 s).
