摘要: Abstract The effect of chronic consumption metabisulphite, a food preservative, on the integrity rat kidney cellular system was investigated. levels activities some ‘marker’ enzymes were measured both before and after administration between 1 15 doses chemical compound. Feeding metabisulphite (5 mg/kg body wt.) to rats resulted in loss alkaline phosphatase from beginning first dose. This accompanied by reduction lactate dehydrogenase activity which noticed as secondary reaction, taking place five daily doses. an increase decrease serum. An increased urinary excretion protein also obtained. Other assayed (acid glutamate activities) not significantly affected tissues urine. All these results indicated that there is damage result metabisulphite. They indicate primarily plasma membrane. proximity soluble portion cytoplasm membrane makes it site injury cell.
