摘要: To achieve color vision, the brain has to process signals of cones in retinal photoreceptor mosaic a cone-type-specific way. We investigated possibility that wiring is an adaptation statistics cone signals. analyzed estimates responses natural scenes and found there sufficient information higher order L- M-cone distinguish between different types, enabling unsupervised learning cone-type specificity. This was not case for fourth type with spectral sensitivity L M cones, suggesting explanation lack strong tetrachromacy heterozygous carriers deficiencies.
