摘要: This study describes the impact from three major modifications to an existing ice-analysis system developed at Environment Canada. The analysis component of Regional Ice Prediction System currently provides near real-time gridded estimates ice concentration for all ice-affected areas around North America and Greenland, is primarily aimed satisfy operational requirements Canadian Service. first modification assimilation Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder data satellite platforms complement already assimilated Imager one platform. second change ice-concentration information derived Advanced Scatterometer data. third replace in with spatially interpolated values grid points where estimated measure uncertainty above a specified threshold. Objective verification scores were computed 1 year experiments spanning 2010 using independent evaluate accuracy analyses. incremental adding each examined along combined modifications. It demonstrated that new version produces consistently more accurate analyses than previous version, especially during summer period when refreezing.
