摘要: We have used immunohistochemical staining to assess the expression of cyclin D1 in formalin-fixed sections 345 breast carcinomas, dating back 20 years. Clinical follow-up data were available on all patients. Approximately 50% tumours showed excessive nuclear for as compared with normal epithelium. Some strong cytoplasmic absence staining, and around 25% judged be negative D1. Contrary expectations, moderate/strong was associated improved relapse-free overall survival relative patients whose stained weakly or negatively. Conversely, that considered had an adverse prognosis, poor outcome further accentuated if also oestrogen receptor-negative. A possible explanation our findings is which levels are abnormally low may sustained mutations other genes, such RB1 it this abnormality has more significant impact from cancer. © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
