摘要: The central nervous system (CNS) of adult mammals regenerates poorly; in vivo, neurogenesis occurs only two restricted areas, the hippocampal subgranular zone (SGZ) and subventricular (SVZ). Neurogenic potential depends on both intrinsic properties neural progenitors environment, or niche, which progenitor cells reside. Isolation multipotent from broad CNS regions suggests that neurogenic is dictated by local environmental cues. Here, we report astrocytes brain regions, SGZ SVZ, mice release molecular signals, such as sonic hedgehog (Shh), stimulate to reenter cell cycle generate new neurons vitro vivo. Transplantation application Shh caused de novo non-neurogenic neocortex mice. These findings identify a target can activate dormant nonconventional suggest novel mechanism replacement therapy for treating neurodegenerative disease injury without transplanting exogenous cells.
