摘要: The anticipation of negative parental reaction is cited by pediatricians as a common barrier to intervening with parents who smoke. In an effort clarify perceived versus actual parent reaction, the present study investigated reactions diverse sample toward addressing smoking in outpatient setting. This represents descriptive cross-sectional in-person survey 906 interviewed exiting four geographically pediatric practices. Only 3% felt their status was not pediatrician's business, 89% stated they believe it important part job ask about status, and 8% wouldn't matter if pediatrician asked. Demographic characteristics were associated positive attitude being Compared nonsmokers, fewer smokers had attitudes (81% vs. 91%, p = .0002); more highly educated strongly asked (91% 83%, .006).
