摘要: Objectives: To estimate protein requirements in older hospitalized adults with pressure ulcers (PrU) according to systemic conditions and wound severity. Design: Secondary nitrogen balance study over 3 days. Setting: Long-term care facility. Participants: Twenty-eight PrU using a urinary catheter. Measurements: Nitrogen days was evaluated from habitual intake measured food weighing record excretion urine, feces exudate. required maintain equilibrium estimated as an average requirement linear mixed model. Results: at 0.151 gN/kg per day (95% confidence interval = 0.1270.175 day) for all participants. The amount of loss exudate contributed little total excretion. A Charlson comorbidity index 4 or greater (the median value) related lower (P .005). Severe heavy amounts areas 7.9 cm2 were higher individuals less (both P .04). Larger area (correlation coefficient (r) 0.55, .003) heavier volume (r 0.53, .004) associated muscle hypercatabolism 3-methylhistidine/creatinine ratio. Conclusion: is 0.95 g/kg Japanese PrU, but depend on individual's condition severity range 0.75 1.30 day. can require intakes because rather than direct
