摘要: For a user to access any resource on the Internet, it is necessary first locate server hosting requested resource. The Domain Name System service (DNS) represents step in this process, translating human readable name, host into an IP address. With expansion of Content Distribution Networks (CDNs), DNS has seen its importance increase. In CDN, objects are replicated different servers decrease distance from client object that needs be accessed. should improve experience by directing demand optimal CDN server. While most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) offer their customers, now common see clients using public instead. This choice may have impact Web browsing performance. paper we study choosing one instead another and compare performance large European ISP with service, Google DNS. We propose causal approach expose structural dependencies parameters impacted used show how model these Bayesian network. allows us explain quantify benefits obtained solution further
